A post-doctoral-like position whilst I finish up my PhD. Will be studying the Zeeman effect on diatomic molecules in the interstellar medium, and attempting to apply the same methods to sunspots.Additionally, will be assisting in the design and construction of an online database.

I was employed as a computational physics research assistant, working on upgrading software designed to identify candidate low-energy silica nanocluster geometries for further investigation. This role required a study of existing research related to the molecular physics of silica. I worked in Fortran for this project.This project first required creating a plan which identifies the way the existing program works and the sections which require removal or update, as well as interpreting the literature and understanding how to implement it in code. The sections of the code which require updating may then be written up as pseudo-code in full, before the solution may be properly implemented.
Aberystwyth
In this role I developed documentation and educational material to enhance the use of the equipment the physics department has available to use in educational and community outreach activities.I gained experience using LaTeX to produce in depth documentation, graphics software (Paint.net), video editing software and various additional office and miscellanious applications (Word, Excel, Celestia). Using Celestia I have also spent time developing LUA scripts.I was solely responsible for defining the scope of the project and managing my own time, for which I developed project management documents and timetabling. I also utilised version control systems to both back up and monitor my progress.
