My current role is overseeing the day to day operations of conferences and events at the mercure hotel. This includes keeping 2 event bars stocked and running them on busy nights. After lockdown I realised my true passion lay within the hospitality industry, I love bartending getting to make and try new drinks as well as chatting to customers and giving them a great experience. In June of last year I began working at the Wharf, my responsibilities here include; bartending a busy bar, waitressing up to 700 covers a day, controlling.

For a year I worked as a team leader for teleperformance on their NHS Digital campaign. Previously I was working on their NHS 119 Campaign as an agent. As a Team Leader it was my role to take care of the agents and help to ensure they reach their KPIs and targets each month. I did this through coaching 1-2-1 sessions with each agent on a regular basis. I.

Whilst in Sydney I worked full time at Melonhead and Juice and Smoothie bar in Coogee Beach. My job included serving customers on the till as well as making Juices, Smoothies and coffees. I would also do basic food prep of sandwiches, salads and açai bowls.

This role has taught me a lot about the operational side of working in the Events Industry. This venue hosts a variety of different clients and different scaled events. The majority of the events we host are buffet dinners and Table d’hôte menus as well as conferences this means that I have gained a wide range of skills within these areas whilst working at.

I worked as a temp during the enrolment period. This job contained various different elements. We did enrolments for the students, helped the HE students apply for loans and answered telephone queries. My main roll was to run excel reports from the loan portals and analyse the data from those. I was also trained to cover reception, when they needed help.

During summer 2018 I worked as an Activity Leader for St Giles International in their Bournemouth location. As we were a smaller site the activities team consisted of me and the Activities Manager, this meant that I was working closely with him to plan and carry out the activities for the children. This included taking large groups of children on.

This job involved ensuring that breakfast clubs and after school clubs ran smoothly at various different schools in Bournemouth. The clubs were all run by 3 members of staff and we would need to set up, collect the older children from school then make sure the children were fed and entertain them. The children were aged 5-11

During my 2nd year at Bournemouth University. I was chosen to be a Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Leader for the first year Events Management students. My role is to assist the new students by ensuring they settle academically and socially. I have to liaise with the faculty staff on a regular basis. During my 4th year I was invited back to join the PAL team.

The main basis of the job is lifeguarding. I work as part of a team, when we are not on poolside we are working in the Leisure Centre to set up for various sports. As part of this job I have had to be able to adapt quickly as there is so much to do around the centre. As a lifeguard I have learnt a lot and had to always be on the ball, because if I lose.

I worked as a Cabin counsellor at Camp Echo in New York State. I was responsible for the needs of a bunk of 12 girls aged 8-10. I had to work on getting them all ready and to all of their activities on time. As well as partaking in activities and working to get all the bunk involved. It was an amazing experience.
