As Digital Marketing Manager at The Modern Connection, I take on a lot of different tasks. I still work on some of the same client management projects I did as Community Manager, like social media management, blogging, email content creation, and more.I am also a WordPress website developer and create visually appealing and search engine optimized sites using customized WordPress themes. I have experience with a variety of different WordPress themes, as well as proficient skills with HTML and CSS. I have worked with a number of WordPress plugins as well to help create different processes on various websites. I've created one-page websites, multi-page sites, e-Commerce sites integrated with WooCommerce and Shopify, and membership sites with protected members-only pages or portals.I also work on graphic design projects for clients at The Modern Connection using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I have created social media graphics, email newsletters, blog post graphics, and lead magnet PDFs.My favorite project is our TMC Academy (academy.themodernconnection.com), a DIY social media marketing training program that I have created, managed, and promoted. It's an affordable membership program that helps small business owners who don't have a large enough budget to hire us for account management. The in-depth modules cover each platform fully, how to create a business page, and how to market it correctly. They also dive into different aspects of digital marketing, like blogging, community building, email marketing, and so much more.

I have worked on the online presence of multiple local and national businesses. This includes social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube), blogging, website design, and email marketing (I have worked with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and Infusionsoft).I am also in charge of creating, maintaining, and growing our DIY online training TMC Academy for business owners who want to have a hand in their own social media marketing, or can't yet afford to hire an agency. This includes basics of each social media platform and digital marketing avenue as well as more in-depth, advanced marketing strategies. Throughout creating this online learning platform, I gained experience in CustomerHub, OptimizePress, and Memberium.I regularly edit photos and create graphics for our clients' online presences using both Photoshop and Illustrator. I have experience automating campaigns through Infusionsoft and using WordPress plugins like OptinMonster to help generate more leads. I have designed and edited a few of our WordPress websites using theme options, HTML, and CSS.

While working at this company, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the online profiles of many umbrella companies as well. I managed Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, and LinkedIn accounts for a few different businesses, all with different strategies and goals. I created email templates and managed email campaigns. I worked with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn ads. I created optimized images for Instagram and Pinterest with Photoshop. I wrote a variety of blog posts. I managed Google AdWords campaigns. I helped start up the social profiles of companies that had no online presence whatsoever. On top of my social media experience, I also helped manage a number of other tasks while helping to build the company. I have experience in bookkeeping, payroll, project management, data entry, and other administrative assignments like getting a brand new office building set up.

Over the course of my college career, I had 4 internships, each helping me learn just a little bit more what I wanted to do, and when I finished my last internship, I had found my career.Having had such a positive experience in each of my internships, I am a huge advocate for internships for other college students as well. I now help to manage the internship program at my current company, as my experience there was so valuable & I want to pass that on.Internships:Editorial Intern at Charleston Home + Design Magazine (Summer 2012)- I helped to write advertorial content, which makes up the majority of this magazine.- I helped with customer outreach, attended interviews and photoshoots, helped out at the semi-annual Home + Design show, and completed other intern tasks like filing.- When I began college, I wanted to be a magazine editor, so this internship was an incredible fit. I enjoyed my time here, learning more about the magazine world. This magazine was a small operation, so I was able to gain perspective on each of the different departments.Social Media Intern at Mount Pleasant Magazine (Summer 2013)- At this point, still interested in magazines. This, however, was a social media internship, my first venture into social media marketing.- The majority of this internship was posting to client Facebook Pages each day.Public Relations Intern at Arbordale Publishing (Summer 2014)- By this time, I had graduated my interests more into book editing and publishing.
