I am a materials scientist with more than 10 years of hands-on research experience specializing in nanoscale fabrication and characterization, including thin film coating and nanoparticle synthesis. I study the surface chemistry, optical properties, and crystal structure of the materials using SEM, EDS, XRD, UV-Vis, etc. I have taken more than 2,500 SEM images (300+ hrs). • Visible and near infrared quantum dots synthesis, doping, coating and characterizations: Synthesis of air-stable colloidal quantum dots, including CdS, CdSe, PbS, PbSe, ZnS, ZnSe, CdPbS, CdPbSe, and CH3NH3PbBr3 Perovskite via low temperature synthesis in aqueous or organic medium. Solubility study via pH control, concentration control, and temperature control. Surface chemistry study via different capping molecules and ligand exchange process. Characterizations of the quantum dots including absorbance and photoluminescence spectra, size and zeta-potential measurement, elemental analysis and crystal structure characterizations, cyclic voltammetry and optoelectronic response measurement.• Double the efficiency of quantum dot sensitized solar cells by doping and surface modification of quantum dots: The absorption spectrum of the quantum dot sensitized solar cells can be tuned by different band gap quantum dots, and the interface resistance can be tuned by surface coating of the quantum dots.• Quantum dot white light LEDs: The desired correlated color temperature (CCT) or color rendering index (CRI) can be achieved by tuning the emission range of quantum dots via doping, coating, or heating. Polymer-quantum dot composite coatings fixing quantum dots in polymer matrix.
