Alchemist, social impact entrepreneur, startup business coach, neurodivergent thriver, and visiting professor of Strategic Communications, and adjunct professor of Advanced Media Management. My scholarship is centered around how innovation and disruptive technologies enhance accessibility for underestimated individuals and entrepreneurs. WHAT I DOWhen I'm not teaching at the two top journalism and mass communications schools, I connect underserved and emerging media founder populations with the networks, training and resources needed to sustain and grow profitable businesses. I’m a trusted advisor, coach and mentor for entrepreneurs and support organizations like SEED SPOT, the Black Media Mogul Project, and Local First Arizona's Economic Recovery Center, and “We Rise” program.MUSIC MATTERSDid you know that less than five percent of all music - from movies to tv, plays and gaming - are produced by women? Incredible. Neither did I. That's why I help to increase female representation in STEAM careers as chair of the Women’s Audio Mission (WAM) board of directors. WHO NOTICEDIn 2020, I was named as a member of the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for Women in Media. As co-founder of the media startup, Citefull, we were recognized as a 2020 SXSW Global Pitch finalist for Content & Entertainment. WHERE I’VE BEENAs a storyteller, in past lives I led cross-functional stakeholder engagement teams, and interactive strategy for “Davids & Goliaths” via agencies and corporations. I’ve also produced large-scale experiences for Fortune 500 companies like GM and PetSmart and nonprofits like United Way. Through tight deadlines, fire-breathing Godzilla clients, and Wonder Woman bosses, it's been my privilege to work beside, rally with, and learn from some of the smartest sheroes around. WHY THIS IS SO LONGIf you’ve read this far then you’re probably bored, easily amused or interested in how we can join forces to use our super powers for good. Assuming it’s the latter, if you’re aligned with a media or entrepreneur program, venture or funder, let’s start a meaningful conversation.
