Technique Solutions is a world-leading provider of specialised safety gear and ‘tool drop prevention’ solutions for the resources, construction and scaffolding industries. Technique Solutions sought to move into the American market but needed to strategically choose branding that resonated both with their existing Australian base and the new, American market. In order to minimise their risk and maximise their chance of success, (1)I ran a branding experiment that tested many potential branding strategies, and (2) an exploratory study of the American/Australian markets to capture information about the different needs and experiences of these two customer bases.

This body of work sought to understand the users, their experience, and their motivations online. I collaborated with the the Big Systems Research Group at the University of Melbourne to explore sharing in Twitter networks and support the development of their real time analytics application, RAPID.Digitial trace behavioural data, survey data, and previously published research was triangulated across multiple sources to inform our understanding of how, why, and who shares information online.
