Software development - programming embedded and desktop software for custom instrumentation and physiological measurement and extending flight simulator plugins and tools.Projects:- Programmed real-time database acquisition plugins for CATS (Cognitive Avionics ToolSet), a proprietary in-house data collection software written in Qt/C++.-Designed interfaces for both commercial and custom made devices that communicate via USB/TCP/UDP/Bluetooth/RS232-485/ARINC429.-Real-time heat map generator based on line-of-sight of a UAS system.-Real-time weather map simulator for the 737/777 simulator.-Designed software for bidirectional communication with NASA's Aeronautical Data Link and Radar Simulator (ADRS).Embedded Systems Engineering - designing custom embedded hardware to conduct research in a variety of measurement scenarios.Projects:-Designed and built a wireless accelerometer sensor network based on the 802.15.4 standard to operate in a medical environment and monitor stroke patients.-Designed and built an electrochromic glass controller that interfaced serially with a laptop to conduct license plate visibility studies.-Custom grip sensor for a helicopter simulator cyclic that measured pressure on key points on the cyclic stick.
