Ph.D. student Researcher at the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in nanomanufacturing, soft material technology and ultrasound imaging technology with over a decade of experience. Since 2016, I led wearable ultrasound technology research for monitoring deep tissue vital signs, contributing to the paradigm shift from bulky clinical ultrasound machines to wearable smart devices, advancing next-generation digital healthcare.My leading research has been published in prestigious journals (as Corresponding or First Author), including Nature (2024), Science (2022) and Nature Biomedical Engineering (2021, 2018), with coverage in major media outlets like Time, National Geographic, Forbes, and the NIH Director's Blog. My work has received notable recognition, such as the Forbes 30 Under 30 and Baxter Young Investigator awards.

Advised by Prof. George Church and Ed Boyden on spatial omics and bioimaging research.

Working with Prof. Charles Lieber in Harvard Chemistry department on brain integrated electronics for neural regeneration and chronic electrophysiology recording.Trained in cleanroom nanofabrication skills for developing nanoelectronics used in brain-computer interfaces on nanomesh brain implants. Conducted brain surgery, implantation, device validation, and physiological recordings while setting up systems for brain-machine interface (BMI) studies. Additionally, characterized the long-term immune response to implanted devices. This work has been published in Nature Biomedical Engineering.

During master period, Chonghe worked with Prof. Sheng Xu at University of California, San Diego. Where he pioneered the direction of engineering a wearable ultrasonic patch that could monitor deep tissue vital signs in the human body. His first author research work was featured as the journal cover of Nature Biomedical Engineering (September, 2018), and was exclusively highlighted by hundreds of famous media including: National Geographic Magazine, Forbes, MIT Technology Review, National Institute of Health (NIH), and many others. This technology has huge potential of shifting the paradigm of transforming bulky clinical ultrasound machine to wearable smart devices for next generation digital healthcare.His works have been accepted and published by series of notable journals includes Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Electronics, Science Advances, Proceeding of National of Academy of Science, Advanced Materials, and many others. He was recognized as the '2019 Baxter Young Investigator' for his contribution in developing the world first wearable central blood pressure monitor that could potentially save lives of ICU patient.
