About Chong Ing Kai
Building things and solving problems make me tick. I've been building air cannons, tazers, and flamethrowers since I was in Primary School. Discovered a passion for using tech for good with Engineering Good in P5, and built assistive technologies for a few years. Won dozens of engineering competitions in secondary school, building underwater ROVs and all sorts of crazy things.Worked part-time as a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) teacher for robotics and coding classes at 15+ local, international and gifted schools, I was exposed to the inequalities in the global education system.STEAM Education is too expensive and too complex. Not all schools can afford robotics kits, and teachers are too stressed out to pick up new programmes.I founded Stick 'Em 4 years ago in the pursuit of making STEAM education accessible to all. Stick 'Em is a low-cost STEAM kit that allows students to build bridges, catapults and crazy robots. Our self-guided, challenge-based curriculum empowers teachers with zero STEAM background to conduct classes for their students.It's like LEGO robotics, but 10x cheaper (and 10x more fun)We've empowered 6000+ students and 650+ teachers across 11 countries with our STEAM kit, turning them into better problem solvers who can turn their ideas into reality.Everyone knows the benefits of developing 21st century skills for students.
