I was given the opportunity to carry out different tests in six different departments: Haematology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Blood Bank, Serology, Bacteriology and Histopathology. Worked with professionals for 3 months by ensuring all samples (approximately 150 samples per day) were carried out accurately and precisely, followed by checking on the quality control of each and every machine operating. - Haematology: SD BIOLINE Dengue DUO® Kit to detect dengue virus antigen NS1, IgG and IgM antibodies, the DxH800 Analyzer by Beckman-Coulter that gives the blood count profile. Also, I performed peripheral blood smear for Differential Leukocyte Count as well as testing for the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate.- Biochemistry and Immunology: Unicel Dx1 800 Immunoassay System for clinical chemistry analysis such as non-specific Rapid Plasma Reagin (RPR) test, G6PD test, Total Bilirubin test. - Bacteriology: Plate streaking technique, spread plate and pour plate method using aseptic technique. Able to differentiate Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria as well as differentiating their shape and sizes. Carried out different tests using various reagents.- Histopathology: Embedding and cutting using Leica RM1235 Rotary Microtome and Leica EG1160 Embedding Machine. Able to differentiate carcinogenic cells under the microscope. - Serology: Carried out tests to detect influenza, detecting Helicobacter Pylori, Urine FEME test using the test strips and UriSed 3 machine for urine examination as well as stool examination. - Blood Bank: Forward and reverse blood grouping, transfusion of RhD negative patients and storage of different blood samples.
