Now this job role goes back to where i started from. Being a support role for a product that enhances the Internet experience for everyone! How cool can that be? My job is to make sure that the Internet user are happy watching movies, downloading torrents, playing games online....etc on their PC or mobile phone or tablet or whatever device that is connected to the Internet without interruptions :)

This job is very different in nature as i do not need to face customer at all. I had time to do my own research on whatever that i am interested on. It was an interesting period as i had the chance to work with multiple platform due to the company's recent acquisition that runs on Solaris and Oracle on top of the current solution which runs on Linux and MySQL. Suddenly i can't just download, install and run software like how i did in my previous job. This job also provides me lots of interesting technology to play with as i am required to setup testbed using PolicyBasedRouting, Port trunking, Logical Domains just to name a few. Days are spent setting up the whole testbed then tearing it down apart completely and setting up new testbed just to test different configuration and feasibility for each solution. Of course this also includes performance testing on the setups and equipment that we have so that these solutions can be replicated into customer environment.

This is my 1st job when i wanted to know how the Internet work. This is where i learn that hands on work is so much better than just reading from the books. I work from a System Operator to Technical Customer Support and finally attaining the title Linux System Administrator. The Customer Support role was extremely demanding as we need to troubleshoot the system while handling angry customer on the phone at the same time. But it was also during this period that i felt i have grown much and gained a lot of technical knowledge.
