Choon Siang is currently the CEO of CapitaLand Malaysia REIT Management Sdn. Bhd. (Manager of CapitaLand Malaysia Trust). Prior to this, he was the CFO of Ascendas India Trust (AIT), a business trust listed on SGX with real estate assets in India. His experience spans across investments, financial management, corporate finance, corporate planning, treasury, investor relations and investment banking. Prior to joining AIT, he was the Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury at Ascendas-Singbridge, where he oversaw the Group’s corporate finance and treasury activities across the region. Prior to Ascendas-Singbridge, he was Vice President of Corporate Finance at Genting Singapore, where he was responsible for the company’s investments, financing and treasury functions. At Genting Singapore, he led the Company’s efforts to refinance S$2.25 billion of term loan facility and helped the Company raise S$1.8 billion of perpetual capital securities which garnered several industry awards, including Deal of the Year and Best Local Currency Bond from FinanceAsia, IFR Asia and Euromoney etc. He joined Genting Singapore in 2011 and held various positions within the Company including Director of Corporate Planning, Vice President of Investments and Vice President of Casino Marketing.Prior to Genting Singapore, he spent more than 10 years in the finance and banking industry. He was with Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong and Singapore where he was the Executive Director of Equities Derivatives Structuring and Corporate Solutions. Prior to that, he was with the Investment Banking team at Deutsche Bank, where he helped execute several capital markets transactions in Southeast Asia. He has also held the position of Head, Economic Strategy at Ministry of Finance, overseeing strategic planning and fiscal policies to support the growth and development of Singapore.Choon Siang graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He was also awarded the Public Service Commission Scholarship which was granted by the Government of Singapore.
