About Choon Yian H.
I am a highly adaptive, resourceful and experienced researcher. Ready for a new challenge in a dynamic, stimulating and problem-solving environment. To use my developed laboratory and analytical skills in line with the cutting edge technologies especially in material science characterisation techniques and applications for achieving the institute’s goals. Here are my summaries of accomplishments: More than 10 years experience in a range of instrumental analytical skills particularly for material science characterisation and applications – I have worked with Perkin-Elmer Lambda series UV-visible-NIR spectroscopy, JEOL 2100F transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray Diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), Renishaw inVia confocal Raman spectroscopy (532 nm, 514 nm, and 325 nm) and Photoluminescence spectroscopy, Bruker Minispec nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) Contrast Analyzer proton relaxometer, and Agilent 7820A Gas Chromatography (GC System). Also in experience with magnetic property of measurement by using Lake Shore 7400 vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and Quantum Design’s MPMS SQUID magnetometer for magnetic nanoparticles such as Fe3O4 and CoFe2O4 during my tenure as visiting scholar at University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth. Proficient in TEM image particulate analysis softwares (Gatan, ImageJ and Fiji), selected area electron diffraction (SAED) image analysis and fast- Fourier transformation (FFT) analysis with different range of semiconductor and magnetic materials which include TiO2, SnO2, ZnO,MoS2, Fe3O4 and CoFe2O4. Experience in working with local and international research group - BioMagnetic Research Group from UWA, Perth to complete numerous projects in collaboration with National University of Malaysia (UKM).
