Zhi Min’s interest spans across digital user experience design, software development and technology. He joined the Service Innovation Practice in 2009 as founding member and helped to build up the courses, workshops and research. Before joining the practice, he had worked in developing web system, in traditional waterfall methodology and agile methodology for 7 years. He developed the Knowledge Portal for students in NUS-ISS as online knowledge sharing and e-learning platform. He was comfortable in using open source technology and had taken the interest in user-centric software development approach. Zhi Min was a co-researcher in the experiment to compare two online public transport journey planning services from the goods-centric and service-centric perspective. He presented the results in International Conference on Service Science and Innovation (Beijing, 2010) and International Joint Conference on Service Sciences (Taipei, 2011). The findings were published in Journal of Service Management (2011, vol 22, issue 4) and International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences (2013, vol 5, issue 2). Zhi Min launched the 3-day Digital User Experience Design course in 2013 for the working professionals. Since the launch, the course has trained more than 1000 professionals from various fields like software engineers, designers, consultants and project managers. Seeing the demand for better mobile user experience, Zhi Min launched the Mobile User Experience Design course in 2016. Zhi Min also teaches technology-centric courses: software testing, Java programming and software configuration management. Besides teaching, Zhi Min has been involved in facilitating and delivering innovation workshops for corporate customer and digital projects that involved usability evaluation and testing such as government web and mobile e-services, consumer music mobile app (eye-tracking usability testing), web and mobile app (UOB, NUS Library, Nippon Paint).
