I stepped into a new role to support internal administrative units, lead the Faculty's intranet and day-to-day communications, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver faculty-wide messages and initiatives.Some key projects and highlights include: - Increased email open rates by 10%- Change management and communications for audiences switching to new systems and technology (e.g. Workday, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive, etc.)- Working with executive leadership to develop communications such as cybersecurity alerts, faculty-wide recruitment and employment updates, and new equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives- Planning and executing an internal IT unit rebrand

I've been recognized for my growth as a communicator and have been trusted with more tasks and projects to manage. In addition to my current tasks of day-to-day communications, key projects included:- daily internal messages to families- collaborating with alumnae relations on newsletter and social media content- creating special video content for Head of School and Board of Directors- developing social media campaign for large-scale events- assisting Director, Communications on external communications campaigns

I told stories through the School’s digital channels to a community of 3,500 parents and staff, while maintaining a high level of engagement across all platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, the website and digital newsletters. Key duties included:- Acted as the School’s official photographer for all key events- Improved staff newsletter open rate by 20% through creating the Staff Spotlight and Humans of Crofton series. The average open rate was 97 percent.- Created content and wrote two biweekly newsletters, keeping up to date on School operations and events

Assisted the new team that successfully launched the Vancouver chapter membership and mentorship program.Key duties included:- Producing monthly newsletters using Mailchimp. - Ensured email lists were FIPPA compliant, developing change communications to adjust to new regulation

In September 2014, I joined the Foundation to assist the team in their rebranding project by finding ways to help inform the public about its change in name and logo (from “Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation” to “Surrey Hospital and Outpatient Centre Foundation”).I also helped organize the Foundation’s Fall campaigns through arranging advertising opportunities and writing key messages to help raise money for innovative and surgical equipment and technology, and a new kids mental health unit.

Designed and copy-edited the department's annual newsletter by amalgamating content regarding the centre's programs and academic activities.Updated the department's website regularly about its activities.

In my one year co-op work term at SFU Public Affairs and Media Relations department (now known as the Communications department), I managed daily media monitoring and reporting for the SFU community.As part of the team, I gained public relations experience by writing news releases, media alerts, and articles to promote SFU activities regarding its research, students, and the community. I also gained social media experience in Pinterest, maintaining a high-level of engagement on the channel, and helped produce the university’s official Instagram account and the hashtag “#sfugram” that is now widely used by students and staff.Working in the public relations department gave me many opportunities to leverage my video production and photography skills. I created event wrap-up videos and managed photography responsibilities for publishing on SFU’s Facebook and Flickr channels, as well as the SFU News website.

Assisted in the rush period through cashiering, stocking of course materials, and organizing and unpacking incoming course materials in receiving.

Implemented a new blog to drive community engagement and created content plan that resulted in 90 distinct blog posts.Written articles for the DSBIA New View newspaper.Organized, filmed and edited a pre-movie video for "Movies Under the Stars" event that featured the sponsors, including Dianne Watts, mayor of Surrey, and was screened in front of an average of 3,000 people a night.

Provided technical sales assistance regarding photo electronic devices and services. Other duties involved keeping up to date with new technology devices, as well as maintaining a clean, faced department.
