- Manage strategy, communications, evaluation, and implementation of community and youth education, urban waters, and volunteer programs.- Direct programs with an annual operating budget of $335,000+ and supervise 3 full-time staff.- Generated $500k in revenue since 2017 and actively steward diverse funding sources including private foundations, earned income, public funds, and corporate contributions. Prepare federal grants including for NOAA and EPA. - Implement partnerships with local governments for multi-year public education programs. - Provide organizational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategy on climate resilience, native landscaping initiatives, and green infrastructure programs. - Expanded the Nashville Youth Climate program to include innovative Climate Action Projects in coordination with Mayor’s Office and Nashville Climate Action Plan.

I managed the Compact's Education Programs which include Community and Youth Education. Under my leadership, our Youth Education program reach has doubled, educating 5,000 students in 2019. I have also cultivated a community through our River Talks programs, growing our audience and expanding our reach. In 2020, I organized Nashville's first Youth Climate Summit with the Mayor's Youth Council. I also provide operational leadership for our organization with grant writing, management of the AmeriCorps program, and fundraising. I have helped to raise over $200,000 in diverse funding for our organization. With all of my work, I listen to community needs and address them through innovative and high quality programs. I integrate program evaluation throughout my work to ensure my programs are meeting their intended goals for both environmental and educational outcomes. Key Programs:Waterfest: A free community event involving 20+ educational exhibits, entertainment, and prizes. Attended by 2000+ diverse community members each year. River Talks: Weekly talk series focused on the Cumberland River Region including its history, innovations, spirits, and natural world. Youth Education Programs: Teach water-education in classrooms throughout the Cumberland River Basin. In fall 2017 and spring 2018, I also managed our Green Alleys and rain garden program that worked directly with residents to plant 50+ rain garden in Nashville. This includes one-on-one consultations and presentations to neighborhood groups.

- Manage internal and external communications as part of SciStarter 2.0 project development. (NSF Advancing Informal STEM Learning grant #1516703)- Gather information about pilot citizen science projects’ communities to inform the software development of a new website interface. - Contribute to the QA/QC review of website development.- Oversee communication among PIs, advisors, evaluators, project owners, and developers. - Contribute to the strategic vision for SciStarter with Director. - Develop engaging and interactive content for events like the USA Science and Engineering Festival, Biodiversity Festival at the National Mall, and Bay Area Science Festival. - Coordinate event efforts of partners including Discover Magazine, Astronomy Magazine, The Crowd and The Cloud, and Science Cheerleaders. - Create engaging social media content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest including promotion of national social media campaigns like #CitSciDay. - Work with SciStarter Edit Team on bi-monthly newsletters.- Provide customer service to online users through realtime chat service and email. About SciStarter:SciStarter is the place to find, join, and contribute to science through recreational activities and citizen science research projects. Our database of 1500+ citizen science projects and events enable discovery, organization, and greater participation in citizen science.

About Heal the Bay:Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean. We use science, education, community action and advocacy to pursue our mission. The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium serves as the marine education facility for Heal the Bay and educates 80,000+ people during public hours and 15,000 school students throughout the year.
