I trained for a year under veteran voice actor Stuart Culpepper, during which time I gained representation from three talent agencies, and swiftly booked my first ever voice over job with Coca-Cola.My ability to "nail it" in the first couple of takes enabled me to become a studio favourite and one of the go-to British voices in Atlanta - working again with Coca-Cola, but also Yahoo! and the Georgia Lottery. In 2010, I took a sabbatical in the voice over capital of America - Los Angeles. A top agency in Beverly Hills took me on, and after a year battling it out with the biggest voices in America, I moved back to the United Kingdom. Responsible for maintaining client relations and selling mainly over the phone and through email. Working alone, I performed with minimal supervision, setting my own targets and managing all accounts. Despite the downturn in the economy, during my tenure, I sold over $150,000 in magazine advertising, email marketing and exhibition space. My clients were based mainly in the USA, but also the UK, Australia, Canada, India and China.

I was part of a small team selling advertising and listing space for a local magazine and film production directory in Atlanta. The magazine targeted the creative visual industry, which included illustrators, graphic designers, copywriters and so on. The role was mainly telephone and email based, and at times I could be making up to eighty calls a day, though there was an occasional face to face meeting.

As my voice acting was getting off the ground, I worked for a short time in a call centre taking orders andsending technicians out to fix air conditioners.

Before my move to America, I worked in a small department of about 15 people, liaising with ournetwork of brokers and organising policy renewals.

I worked my way up to senior level in a very large outsourcing department for various insurancecompanies, including Norwich Union. Attention to detail was a key factor, as my performance wasconstantly being measured next to very specific targets. Even while under pressure, I consistently hitthese targets. I dealt with household insurance and also settled medical insurance claims for people'spets. During my time here, I wrote the monthly newsletter which was read by over 250 members of staffand the senior executives of Capita Insurance and Norwich Union.

I started work in the control room by sending out recovery operators to broken down vehicles. I was thenasked to train new staff members and was then promoted to supervisor level, where at any given moment,I would be in charge of at least twenty phone operators.
