Bardon

To project manage the relocation of the Nestle Scunthorpe operation into the Nestle World Distribution Centre (690,000 sq ft).To manage the £3.2M fit out of the 200,000sq ft extension.To manage the £3.5M refurbishment of the existing facility. Achievements to dateSuccessful transfer of all export & seasonal product into the Bardon facility.Successful fit.

To project manage the relocation of Encon (Manchester & Leigh) and Nevill Long (Preston) to the new Distribution Centre in Chorley. To develop document and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the Chorley Distribution Centre.To establish relevant working practices and policies for the new environment.To introduce a relevant and appropriate KPI.

To design, build and transfer the Chorley operation to a new purpose built facility at Euxton whilst still assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operational issues. Instrumental in the purchase of the land, building design and internal fitout. Responsible for 32 staff, 101 operatives & 80 temporary employees during this transition.To develop “best.

From my experience as Acting Operations Director I was drafted in to undertake this project role.The brief was to realise £2.4M of annualised savings. Authority to investigate all business areas and processes.To focus on the organisation to enable future calibre and culture change.

Assumed total responsibility for the Distribution Centre Operation in October 2002. This included responsibility for 205 shopfloor colleagues, and 50 staff colleagues split into the following areas, Customer Services, the Distribution Centre Operation, Quality, Transport and Facilities. The budgetary responsibility was £6M employee, £5.2M Transport & £1.5M.

This role involved the management of 600,000sq ft of warehousing, 149 shopfloor colleagues & 8 Operations Managers and shipping 12.000 order lines per day to some 2700 UK delivery locations & 280 export customers.
