About Chris Adams

I have over 11 years of experience working in project management and educational product design. Currently, I work as content developer and Student Success Specialist in the EdTech sector, where I work directly with remote students around the world as they transition their careers into new roles as Full Stack Web Developers and User Experience Designers. I'm deeply passionate about building authentic relationships, democratizing education, and contributing towards the establishment of a global community of learners who have the opportunity to change the world for the better. Previously, I worked in the international governance and public policy sectors. As an educator and learning designer at the University of Queensland, I worked with students to demystify international relations, foreign policy, and development studies while honing my research into cognitive and rational decision-making. Later, as an Advisor to the Hon. Kevin Rudd, 26th Prime Minister of Australia, I applied theory to practice, contributing to policy discussions across multiple specialist domains including development and aid, environmental management and conservation, international security, and global governance among others.I'm an avid traveler, having lived in or visited over 40 countries around the world. Most recently, I traveled overland across Africa to visit schools and explore how educational technologies can be used in the classroom.Tech Competencies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, React Router, SQL, Sequelize ORM, REST API Development, Node, Express, Jade/Pug, Canvas API, and Three.js - plus a smidge of GLSL / Shader development.
