VARIOUS IT ROLES | M&G REAL ESTATE | LONDON | 1997 TO PRESENTInitially worked with VB6, then .NET (C#), WinForms, web service layers, growing library of common components and SQL Server databases. Full lifecycle including roles as developer, business analyst and project manager.2003 built and supported the companywide Intranet (ASP, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax, IIS) and revised it through three major revisions. I have overseen our on-premise SharePoint instances since 2007 arrival shepherded M&G through two migration and decom cycles.During my time at M&G I’ve been responsible for introducing VB, Three tier architecture, DCOM, .NET (C#), MS Enterprise Library, Web service and application server layers. When the need for greater architectural oversight was identified, I became an integral member of M&G Real Estate’s IT Architecture team and went on to introduce further technologies into common use: Entity Framework, WCF, and more recently MVVM, WPF and dependency injection patterns into M&G Real Estate.Alongside that I’ve also been responsible for the development environment and release processes: firstly with the introduction of thoughtworks continuous integration software (operating from SourceSafe), then, since .NET using on-premise TFS, build templates, Wix deployment scripts to automate all steps from coder check in to package creation (MSI, App-V) plus the automation of common component builds into an on-premise Nuget library.In recent years I have been involved in more cerebral projects: including the creation of a shadow share register as a basis for the automatic generation of INREV performance returns at fund, investor and share class levels. A system to manage M&G's Indirect Investments followed based on its positive uptake.As a member of M&G’s Digital Working Group I have kept abreast of latest technology in the Property Industry, have attended several PropTech events and reported back with recommendations to board members.

· I worked on a wide range of projects with the company’s clients including Reuters, Stolt Tank Containers, London Electricity and UNISON. · Working for multiple clients in different locations, sometimes across the course of the same day on technology ranging from screen scraping legacy systems to calculating optimum routes for sea containers called for good time management, organisation and the ability to call upon many IT skills simultaneously. · Technologies used: Access, VB, SQL Server, T-SQL

One of 20 non- IT graduates taken on the British Rail Graduate Scheme. Six months of training in CICS and Microfocus Cobol and other stages of the development lifecycle was an excellent start to my career in IT in 1993. · During my time here I quickly transitioned to VB development went on to work on two huge timetabling projects during the period when National Rail network was being broken into rail franchises. · Technologies used at British rail included VB, Crystal Reports, Oracle, PL/SQL but more importantly being part of projects with 100+ developers based across two sites was a great insight into the importance of good governance, management and testing.
