Chris joined the City of Melbourne to assist the council with its Technology Transformation Journey. Chris works closely with the CIO and leadership team to shape, plan and execute the Transformation activities. Chris’ responsibilities and achievements include:- Management and development of the Technology Strategy for City of Melbourne, aligned to the Council Plan and major initiatives- Assessing City of Melbourne’s current IT Project Delivery Practices including methodologies, structures and processes, and defining a set of recommendations.- Established a project to execute on the agreed recommendations and uplift the overall maturity in Project Delivery and Governance- Completed the outstanding Audits identified from past Independent Cyber Security reviews- Working with the IT Leadership team to set the IT Budget for FY 24/25- Working with the IT Leadership team to set the right Org structure, aligned to the new Technology Strategy- Developing Branch, culture and Forward Procurement Plans for the IT Division Branches- The creation of a Cyber Security Strategy for the council- Managing and escalating key operational IT risks to council Risk and Governance Team- Preparing monthly IT Operational Performance status for CIO and Exec Leadership Team (ELT)

As the Infrastructure Transformation Program Manager, Chris has responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of 5 large Infrastructure Programs of work and ensuring that key milestones and targets are achieved across the portfolio of Programs.Successful governance Is achieved through a combination of monthly Program Control Board meetings, Monthly Steering Committee mtgs and regular touchpoints with key stakeholders (Ie General Managers, National Managers and Program Managers), and Program team members.The 5 Programs of work that Chris' role is responsible for are: -Network Program. Rolling out new Wireless and SD WAN capability and decommissioning legacy -Service Management Program. Establishment of an IT Service Desk and SIAM capability across the agency and implementing a new tool to automate Infrastructure capacity planning. -Hybrid Cloud Program. Establishing Hybrid cloud platforms and migrating applications to the cloud. -Collaboration and Tooling Program. Modernising the platforms for end Users, including M365, Modern Desktop, User Personas and Device As A Service). -Integration Fabric Program. Responsible for establishing the relevant Integration platforms, Policies and procedures.

As the Program Manager for Service Management, Chris oversees 4 projects, each with their own Project Manager and team of skilled resources. Chris facilitates the Program Control Board each month for this Program, which comprises of Senior stakeholders , and provides an update on each of his projects. Together with other members of the board, Chris provides guidance and support to the project managers. In this role, Chris is responsible for the successful Implementation of Service Integration and Management (SIAM) and the new IT Service Desk across the Agency.

Chris was a key member of the team responsible for the planning and development of the new Technology Strategy for Services Australia for the next 5 year horizon (2020 - 2025).Chris developed the detailed plan and Strategy Framework which comprised of an Overarching Technology strategy along with a set of platform and enabling strategies supporting the Overarching technology strategy.Gartner's CEB methodology was used to develop the Technology Strategy.Work commenced on the Overarching Technology Strategy first, which defined "What" needed to be done In the next 5 years to address the strategy. This Included the vision, Mission, key Initiatives and 5 year roadmap with targets and metrics.The sub strategies provided the next level of detail, showing the "How". This Included detailed Initiatives that expanded on the key Initiatives from the overarching Technology Strategy, detailed 90 day plans for the first 2 years and high level planes for years 3,4 and 5. In addition the Sub Strategies Included detailed roadmaps and metrics providing a clear mechanism for measuring the progress and success of the strategy during the execution phase.

Responsible for Oakton's Project Services Domain. This team includes the Services Project Management, Program Management, PMO, Project Coordination, Project Directors, Business Analysis, Change Management.
