My focus continued to be on creating and adjusting financial plans for clients using RightCapital. In addition to the previous summer's responsibilities, I rebalanced client portfolios using Tamarac. While rebalancing, I recommended possible tax loss harvesting actions. I worked on client cash flow projections, reporting for alternative investments, creating client meeting agendas, and prospective client recommendations. I learned how to use Tamarac and RightCapital efficiently and gained an in-depth understanding of each software

In addition to my responsibilities from the previous summer, my focus was on building financial plans for a wide range of high-net-worth individuals. The planning process considers all aspects of the client’s financial lives: their current balance sheet, future cash flows, Social Security strategies, tax-efficiency, college funding, insurance coverage, and estate plan. It was interesting to see all the ways these aspects are intertwined. Becoming proficient using the planning software was key to modeling the client’s reality.

I worked alongside the CEO of a growing Registered Investment Advisor serving high net worth clients. While I learned about all facets of the business, my focus was on portfolio management. I evaluated prospective client portfolios to uncover their asset allocation, fees, and embedded tax gains. I updated monthly research deliverables that show the current underlying trends in the markets. I evaluated portfolio protection strategies with Defined Outcome ETFs, which overlay exposure to the markets with various option strategies. I also performed historical research of proprietary investment models.
