Profile bio

About Chris Bethea

I'm an electrical engineer with a wide-ranging portfolio of skills and interests, and a comprehensive understanding of most aspects of electrical engineering. A lot of my skills relate to digital design, microcontroller/microprocessor system design and programming, and high-speed/high-complexity HDL design for FPGAs and ASICs.I have a fairly strong background in analog design as well, as I have a deep and abiding interest in music, musical instruments, synthesizer design (both analog and digital), guitar effect design, high-fidelity audio, and audio processing. Thanks to these interests, my skill in designing high-quality filters and other analog functions continues to grow. (This also finds expression in DSP work, where the digital and analog realms meet for the best of both worlds.)Other areas of competence are: RF/wireless engineering, including both the analog radio-frequency front-end and the digital transceiver portion. I also have knowledge of the major wireless protocols in use today, such as Zigbee, LoRa, WiFi/802.11, Bluetooth, etc. Naturally I also am conversant with current SoCs (ESP8266 and the rest) that implement these protocols.

Listed skills include Verilog, Vhdl, C, Embedded Systems, and 42 others.
