Chris Biddle started in the land-based machinery industry working for Ford Motor Company, Tractor Division, working as a demonstrator in UK, France and Spain.He then joined farm and grass machinery dealership A Brewer & Co of Wilton in 1960, managed the Grass Machinery division before being appointed Managing Director of the company's three branches in the West Country. After the company was taken over, he started a publishing company in 1988, launching Service Dealer magazine and subsequently TurfPro magazine for the golf course, sportsground and amenity market. In 2015, he sold the magazines to Duncan Murray-Clarke of Wallingford-based The Ad Plain (TAP), the current publisher.He was also Editor of Landwards, the professional journal of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers, a post he held until 2020, and is the author of The Budding Legacy, a book detailing the history of the lawnmower industry and the lasting love of natural turf and lawns.In 2020, (during Covid lockdown), he launched a podcast, Inside Agri-Turf talking to those at the sharp-end of the farm, grass and outdoor power equipment industry which to date has published over 100 episodes.Chris is married to Trish and celebrated their Golden Wedding in 2015. Chris and Trish live in the cathedral city of Salisbury, and have three children Emma, Juliet and Mark and four grandchildrenA keen cricketer and now follower, he has been a member of the MCC (Home of Cricket) for over 60 years and represented the club as a playing member.He is a Fellow of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (FIAgrE) and a member of the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists (BGAJ)
