Chris Binkley is a transportation engineer with over six years of design experience, acquired while working on a diverse set of roadway reconstruction and new alignment projects. His geometric design experience consists of horizontal alignment and vertical profile improvements, roadway widening, interchange modification, and high occupancy vehicle lane delineation. In addition to vehicles, Chris has designed new sidewalks for pedestrians, multiple classifications of bikeway for cyclists, and protected intersections for the benefit all users.Chris has handled a variety of the necessary supporting aspects of roadway design. He has created traffic control plans, managed project risks, coordinated with subcontractors, and assessed both right-of-way and utility impacts. His hydrology and hydraulics experience includes closed system drainage design, culvert and channel analysis, and stormwater management facility construction. Additionally, Chris has traffic design experience that includes turning movement analysis, intersection design, and multimodal transportation demand modeling.Chris has extensive experience modeling three-dimensional surfaces and drafting two-dimensional plans in both Civil 3D and Microstation/Inroads. He has designed the fundamental assemblies and templates, and the necessary targets and constraints, required to create a corridor and then generate a surface. Well-built models have expedited the production of a variety of deliverables, including alternative studies, construction quantities, cost estimates, cross sections, and numerous plan sets. Chris has gained this experience working at Jacobs and BKF on projects for the Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA), Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and the cities and counties of the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
