I retired and began working on the restoration of antique warbirds as a volunteer, culminating on the return to flight of a Vintage TBM Avenger. I obtained an A&P license with Inspection Authorization. I currently manage and operate a General Aviation Maintenance Organization in Statesboro, Georgia. At American Airlines, I served as a Check Airman and Superintendent, and was co-charirman of the Allied Pilots Association National Safety Committee. I authored a comprehensive and in-depth study of aircraft performance anomalies in the computerized takeoff performance system utilized by the company, and designed safeguards to enhance safety and accuracy which are currently in use.
