Business Unit Manager of Projects, a senior leadership role working with the Head of Projects, Head of Operations and Business Unit leads.

Chris held a senior leadership role within the Sustainable Solutions unit (a large part of the UK infrastructure business). Chris sits as part of the Senior Management Team and is ultimately responsible for business performance. He provides leadership and business development guidance and direction across a group of approximately 250 staff covering a wide range of disciplines including: Flood Risk Management; Hydrology; Hydraulic Modelling; Environmental Design; Hydrogeology; Geomorphology; Resource Efficiency (Waste); Land Quality (Contaminated Land); Carbon Reporting; Industrial Permitting and Corporate Sustainability. The role is combined with an overall responsibility for business development for the group (alongside wider infrastructure initiatives). Chris provides strategic direction to the business to focus on short, medium and long term growth and drive the best return on investment, through robust internal governance and commercial reviews.Chris is Manager of Projects and Designated Project Executive (Project Director) for a large portfolio of projects (~70no.) across the infrastructure business. In addition Chris is a “listed” Project Manager capable of delivering some of the highest risk projects within the portfolio.Chris is currently the Framework Director for the Environment Agency’s Water and Environmental Management (WEM) Framework and sits as part of the Strategic Leadership Board.

Chris was the Operational Lead for a team of 100 Rivers, Coastal and Marine Engineering professionals across the UK, with overall responsibility for our clients, resources, sales and quality / commercial performance. Under Chris' leadership, the group has an annual turnover of circa £9 million. In this role Chris has to maintain his adaptability between the day to day needs of commercial, client and people management, and the wider strategic objectives of the business.Chris carries out regular reviews of projects as project director and inputs into major bids andproposals to ensure that the product being sold matches the requirements of both parties.

Chris was the Operational Lead for the southern part of the Water business within Infrastructure at Jacobs and was responsible for all sales and operational activity within the group and the development and growth of the business. The business consists of around 80 staff, managed through eight team leaders. The teams represent a mixture of process, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.

Chris was the Operational Lead for the Ports and Marine business within UK Infrastructure, responsible for all sales and operational activity within the group and the development and growth of the business.
