This is a unique role in collaboration with UC San Diego and La Jolla Playhouse - I oversee a dynamic team of up to 25, and manage all aspects of construction, automation, rigging and special effects for 50 events and Broadway level staged productions. This role also incorporates designing and implementing safety systems using both Construction Standards and OSHA standards.Each project and production is completely unique, and regularly invites innovation and collaboration every day - my component of projects has a budget ranging anywhere from $500 to $500K, so we often have to get pretty creative in collaboration with all technical departments involved. During this time, I was open to any opportunity in the Southern California theatre community where I could hone my skills as a carpenter, scenic and automation professional. I contracted with production teams at numerous theatres including: La Jolla Playhouse, Moonlight Amphitheatre, Salvation Army
