As someone who has dedicated themselves to working with young people in education, I feel that I have become an excellent practitioner within the field of education and sports coaching. I have been working as a teacher and lecturer since 2016 within a variety of settings and this diversity of experience and continued process of reflection and development has enabled me to achieve great things in an industry that I am very passionate about.I began working with young people as a football coach in 2007 and formed and ran my own junior side by 2009, despite only being 16 years old and having only just started my Coaching Diploma at College. This experience has set me on an enjoyable journey that saw me coaching and teaching everything from kayaking to rugby, art skills to science holiday camps and regardless of the topic, I have always enjoyed the challenge of planning, delivering and review my teaching which learning more about how to become the best practitioner possible.In 2012 I decided to follow teaching as my path and was accepted onto a degree at the University of Bath, which I followed with a PGCE in Secondary PE at the University of Exeter before taking up teaching posts at Lytchett Minster School, The Gryphon School, Bristol Rovers Football Club. In my current role at Kingston Maurward College, I am tasked with the delivery of the 2016 Sport specification and the development of the colleges thriving sports academies, which is a challenge that I have taken in my stride and we have made great steps as a department towards achieve our long term goals. Alongside this, I have taken my love of football and am now coaching at a high level at the ADC at the Yeovil Town Academy programme, with my teaching knowledge being a driving force in my methods and philosophy surrounding the development of the players I work with.
