Starting initially as a volunteer mechanic, the Bike Station fuelled my passion for cycling and the role that it can play in social and environmental change. This motivated me to become more involved and as a volunteer board member of the Bike Station (Edinburgh / Perth) companies / charity I have worked closely with the staff team and other board members to sustain and develop the project.

Undertaking a wide range of cycling related work streams including scheme design, project management, programme / budget management, promotion / marketing, policy development, public engagement and committee reporting. I was programme manager for the Council’s capital (£2.5M p.a.) and revenue (£0.5M p.a.) cycle budgets that are part of the Council’s pioneering 5% cycle spending commitment. I also undertook feasibility work in to a public bike share scheme for Edinburgh and advised Councillors on the options available.

I worked for 8 years on a range of road, public transport and active travel projects. This included data analysis, modelling, economic analysis, GIS analysis and report writing.
