The Collaborative Teaching Laboratory is a state of the art scientific facility that provides laboratory teaching for undergraduate students within the College and Engineering and Physical Sciences and the College of Life and Environmental Sciences.The facility comprises nine specialist laboratory spaces, used flexibly to support a range of scientific teaching. As Operations Officer, my role is to ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently, and that our key stakeholders are receiving the support they require to deliver teaching to their students.Key Responsibilities:- Liaise with the key stakeholders within each School that uses the facility to ensure they are receiving sufficient support and establish how we can support improvements to their teaching provision.- Responsible for financial planning and analysis of budget, including purchase of large capital equipment items.- Manage complex timetabling of nine specialist facilities, maintaining an effective use of the space while ensuring the happiness of our key stakeholders.- Responsible for all internal and external communications - Manage all HR processes and recruitment within the team

This was a contract position, supporting the Head of School and Head of Operations in the School of Chemistry.Initially brought in as holiday cover, my contract was extended to cover key strategic projects the School is undertaking, earning three contract extensions.• Responsible for managing the recruitment of 4 Senior Lecturers and Lecturers, from shortlisting through to appointment. Upon completing the recruitment process, I have created a Recruitment Toolkit so that the department have a roadmap they can follow for any future recruitment projects.• Further projects included the remodelling of the Worktime Allocation Model with the Head of Operations and Head of Education, from a School devised system to a University wide model, and working with the Change Manager to improve the use of Canvas pages internally.

In my role at Team Locum, I was given the responsibility of personally finding employment for 80-90 locum pharmacists on a day-to-day basis, as well as placing a further 500 pharmacists in work. An excellent phone manner and good persuasive skills were key aptitudes I developed in this role, as well as the ability to multi-task effectively. During my time at the company I worked in a number of roles. The company created a new business development focused desk specifically to capitalise on my strengths of being able to build rewarding relationships with customers. In recognition of the skills I displayed I was promoted to the post of Locum Consultant for the South East Region.
