Chris has more than 25 years’ experience in banking and finance. In a career that has included a number of branch-based sales and service roles – Teller, Sales, Lender, Branch Manager and Regional General Manager, – Chris’s HR career began with Bank of Melbourne, after graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Management majoring in HR. Chris then relocated to Sydney for the role of Head of HR for St George Retail (ACT, NSW, Qld and WA), before moving into Head of HR for Westpac Consumer, and later Head of Employee Case Management. Given Chris’s experience across roles and brands, he was selected to work on Westpac’s Royal Commission response, which earned him a coveted Spotlight award. In 2012 and 2015 Chris won ‘Business Partner of the Year’ for St.George Group and was nominated for Employee of the Year with the wider Westpac Group in 2012. Chris’s vast experience in branch-based roles means he brings a special understanding and insight to his HR role. It ensures he provides sound, practical advice to both the business, his colleagues and his team.Chris moved to the Commonwealth Bank in 2019, where he leads the Workplace Relations team for Retail Banking, Wealth and Insurance and Bank West.
