In February 2017 I created The Diabetes Football Community to support the needs of people with Diabetes who share a passion for football. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1999 and despite seeing huge developments in the care for those with the condition during the time which has lapsed, I always felt that peer support was something that could enhance my experience, and the experience of many others. Following years of playing football semi-professionally and having played internationally for Wales in Futsal, I decided that it was time to develop a support community that deals with first hand experiences that can help to deliver more enjoyment from football for people with the condition. The focus is to provide as much education as we can, to those with the condition and wider society, whilst driving more participatory opportunities for people with Diabetes to come together through the vehicle of Football or Futsal.

I was responsible for driving key performance indicators on adult women's bikes. My key responsibilities included:• Sourcing from various suppliers to deliver a range of market-leading bikes. • Supporting product volume forecasts and budgets in line with sales & margin expectations.• Trading planning & initiative creation to maximise and drive sales amongst new and existing customers. • Liaising with colleagues from around the business to ensure product trading is executed across various consumer channels.• Performance Analysis to understand and improve our trading performance. Monitoring sales and margin performance of the category to drive key KPIs of sales, £m, %m.• Supplier management.• Negotiation & cost management.• Competitor analysis to ensure we maintained and grew our market position.• Innovation and product development.• Maintaining a pricing & range hierarchy. • Managing Rebates & Contributions in line with contractual agreements. • Building ranges and a promotional strategy that appeals to our customers.• Using competitor and customer research to identify ranging opportunities.• Driving commercial initiatives and briefs across the business. • Financial modelling and predictive forecasting based on historical data and the current market climate.• Delivering a strategic direction for my categories. • Driving great messaging in store and online which enticed and engaged with our customers.

Within this role I provided insight and intelligence to key stakeholders from around the business that related to halfords.com and halfords.ie. My key responsibilities included:• Creating and developing regular weekly and monthly KPI reports that are user-friendly and intuitive.• Analysing customer feedback to improve the online customer journey. • Reporting on key metrics and providing in depth ad-hoc analysis upon stakeholder request.• Analysing and interpreting trends, to provide actionable insight. • Data extraction and interpretation support.• The upkeep and administration of analytics tools and software. • Generating supporting analysis to help optimise the desktop and mobile journey.• Extensive Trading analysis to ensure astute recommendations to stakeholders upon how products, categories and promotions perform online.

Within this role I conducted analysis that linked to the level of service Customers received across the business. From a number of different channels I collated and interpreted data to drive insight and intelligence, that enabled us to develop and enhance the service we offered our Customers.I remained focused on driving improvements in customer satisfaction and department efficiency, to ensure we kept our customers at the heart of everything we did.

I worked for one of the leading blind football teams within the country. I helped to coach and develop blind footballers on all aspects of their game, whilst considering their unique needs, health and wellbeing. I helped to develop numerous drills which tested and stretched players, whilst providing feedback and advice to enhance overall performance. Some of the players that I coached went on to represent Team GB at the London 2012 Paralympics.

High Wycombe

I spent 4 months voluntarily working within the Sports Laboratory at the BUCKS new university. Here I helped conduct numerous sports and health related fitness tests, conducted my own testing and also aided in the collection, collation and analysis of data. I was also asked to deal with various different clients within this period, including many people with Type 1 Diabetes whom we conducted careful testing upon.
