Founder
CurrentIn February 2017 I created The Diabetes Football Community to support the needs of people with Diabetes who share a passion for football. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1999 and despite seeing huge developments in the care for those with the condition during the time which has lapsed, I always felt that peer support was something that could enhance my experience, and the experience of many others. Following years of playing football semi-professionally and having played internationally for Wales in Futsal, I decided that it was time to develop a support community that deals with first hand experiences that can help to deliver more enjoyment from football for people with the condition. The focus is to provide as much education as we can, to those with the condition and wider society, whilst driving more participatory opportunities for people with Diabetes to come together through the vehicle of Football or Futsal.
