One of the challenges of this role was navigating a highly bureaucratic hospital environment. I was successful at identifying and building relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers including lab managers, endocrinologists, respiratory therapists, diabetes educators and nursing staff.I was selling single-function hand-held devices which necessitated frequent updates and staff training.

For this position, I promoted a variety of disposable and durable medical/surgical equipment as well as supplies to hospitals across San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, and Napa Counties. A point of pride in this role was that meetings tended to be fairly high-stakes as it was difficult to get the attention of decision-makers and I had to pick and pitch the "right" products.I was skillful at identifying what the customer needed at the time based on intelligence within the upper management such as the Chief Nursing Officer. This was a real balancing act between meeting the needs of the client (always) and meeting the needs of the company.
