Supply Chain Innovations was created in August 2009 in order to support IBM Australia in the preparation and delivery of a proposal for a Halal (Islamic food safety and global trade development) project in Malaysia following the decision by Supply Chain Consulting/Viewlocity to close a number of regional offices and focus on the carbon emissions reporting business. Consulting support was provided to IBM Australia to define and validate the business model, guide the development of solution requirements, approve the selected software applications and assist in the preparation of the resulting proposal and statement of work documents. Work was conducted in Australia and Malaysia involving the client and several IBM business units, including; Global Business Services, Sales and Distribution, Global Technology Services, Software Group, Application Management Services and IBM Legal.

The company was a global software solutions provider headquartered in the US with other major regional operations in EMEA and AsiaPac. Global headquarters were relocated to Sydney, Australia after Viewlocity was acquired by Supply Chain Consulting Pty Ltd in December 2006. In January 2007 a decision was made to develop carbon emission tracking applications based on the existing IP contained within the existing Viewlocity applications. By mid 2008 the majority of the Viewlocity side of the business was dedicated full time to the development and sale of new CarbonView products and services. The S.E. Asian office was the only remaining supply chain visibility focused operation and was budgeted to carry over 80% of global revenue underpinned by developing business in the Halal industry. In 2009 all AsiaPac and EMEA offices were closed and headquarters moved back to the US.

Chris was part of the Supply Chain Management consulting practice and a key member of the Logistics & Distribution team. He has provided consulting services in the areas of warehouse management, transportation management, inventory management, supply chain visibility, strategic sourcing, planning & scheduling and network design & optimisation as well as several enterprise wide cost reduction projects, shared services and process reengineering.His work spanned across multiple industries including; FMCG, CPG, consumer electronics, retail, manufacturing, dairy, banking and defence.As a senior member of the SCM team Chris took an active role on the ongoing development of the practice. He was actively involved in developing practice strategy, graduate recruitment and led the internal Introduction to Supply Chain Management course for 2 years.

Mayne Nickless Logistics was one of the leading 3PLs in Australia. Chris was the National Logistics Analyst supporting the business dvelopment teams in Sydney and Melbourne. Leveraging his strong analytical capabilities with operational experience and process re-engineering success he was responsible for designing, costing and modeling outsourced logistics operations driving tender submissions.

The distribution operations provided by PepsiCo Food Systems were outsourced to Mayne Nickless Logistics. Chris was the only management level person retained from the PepsiCo team and was responsible for managing the operational handover and transition to Mayne Nickless Logistics and ongoing operational improvements required to drive required efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

PepsiCo Food Systems was the distribution operation supporting the KFC and Pizza Hut restaurant chains across NSW and Qld in Australia. Operatiing from a 10,000m2 tri-temperature food grade facility the business supplied over 350 restaurants twice weekly.

General Pants Co. was a youth oriented fashion retailer in Sydney that operated 27 General Pants and Surf Dive & Ski stores. The warehouse operation was responsible for processing all inound stock and providing daily new stock and replenishment deliveries to stores.Chris was promoted out of retail store management to run the warehouse with a mandate to improve operations. Within several weeks he was able to re-engineer and implement re-engineered processes and a revised facility layout that reduced stock dwell time by over 75%.
