My journey began with 11 years of hands-on experience as an Aircraft Engineer in the Royal Air Force, complemented by a first-class BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering Design.As a dedicated Principal Design Engineer, I bring technical proficiency in managing the concept-to-production lifecycle. My specialisation includes the design and testing of aircraft wheels and brakes, diverse material design, sheet metal fabrication, and welding to ISO standards. I am adept at Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), advanced 3D CAD solid/surface modelling (Creo, CATIA V5, SolidWorks), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).With over 7 years of team leadership and project management experience, I excel in effective communication across business functions, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects. My strategic approach and exceptional leadership capabilities have been pivotal in leading multimillion-dollar aircraft upgrade programs and overseeing various functional areas.In my capacity as Principal Design Engineer at JRM-Group, I spearhead the creation of engineering processes, encompassing Concept Development, Requirements Management and Analysis. I efficiently allocate resources using MS Project for projects spanning the engineering department. Moreover, I take charge of the design and calculations for structural steel projects. Noteworthy among my achievements is the successful presentation of a complex proposal for a £1m+ Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) project. I actively promote the adoption of international standards and seamlessly integrate BS/ISO standards into pertinent areas.Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a commitment to professional development, earning recognition with 'The Manufacturer Top 100' award in 2021.
