The Patient Placement Coordinator works closely with hospital personnel to facilitate bed and service assignment. Works to optimize patient flow in the hospital by prioritizing admissions and transfers from multiple sources. Demonstrates flexibility and initiative to diagnose issues and provide timely resolution supporting patient safety and process efficiency. Responds to a variety of requests from hospital staff in a fast-paced environment, makes independent decisions that require individual and/or team analysis, reasoning and problem solving. Interprets, applies and communicates Mayo Clinic policies regarding hospital patient flow to support the timely admission and transfer of hospital patients. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as possess the ability to multi-task, apply critical thinking, and possess effective communication skills.

Part of the leadership team in charge of over 300 Housekeepers and Janitors at St. Mary's Campus of Mayo Clinic Hospital. Job included distributing work fair and evenly amongst staff; Ensured quality control by checking the work of staff, correcting and retraining when quality was not up to hospital standards; Worked with administrative staff in Bed Information Center to ensure patient areas needing most immediate attention were taken care in timely manner; Charged with onboarding new staff and creating training schedules that ensured on the job training would be completed in all necassary areas of hospital, checked in with staff during and after training was complete. Then assessed whether additional training would be necassary; Assisted staff when technological issues would arise with Ipads and other equipment; I was the Chairperson for the Safety Committee at St. Mary's Campus; Deescalate staff when they had issues with eachother, other departments, job duties, or anything else that may cause them to be upset. Had many other duties regarding day to day operations but will stop here.

Cleans and maintains assigned items and areas to facilitate smooth daily operations. Must be flexible to respond to changing priorities and handle changing workflow. Other duties as assigned
