I am a health and fitness expert, wellness coach, and Muscle Activation Techniques® Master Specialist. Originally a breakdancer and street performer, since 2003 I have instructed a select roster of clients and fellow professionals in the art and science of fitness. In addition to dance, I spent much of my youth training in gymnastics, martial arts, and stunt performance before successive injuries prompted a full-time interest in strength and conditioning. I quickly evolved an innovative, no-nonsense training approach that draws heavily on my experience as a moving artist and teacher. I served as Master Trainer for the erstwhile Sports Club/LA (now Equinox) before starting Stronger Humans in 2008 with a specialized focus on injury prevention and athletic development.I am a Master Resistance Training Specialist (RTSm), widely regarded as one of the most advanced and comprehensive continuing education programs available to exercise professionals. And am among the world’s foremost practitioners of Greg Roskopf’s Muscle Activation Techniques®, a Master Specialist utilizing all levels of the technique, including MAT®Rx. My clients have included professional athletes in the NFL, the NHL, MLB, MLS, and PGA tour — along with CrossFit competitors, endurance/multi-sport athletes, mixed martial artists and a steady-stream of executives and entertainers. In line with my own background, I work extensively with dancers and performers. I have coached or provided Muscle Activation for artists with such companies as Alvin Ailey, Bill T. Jones, Cirque du Soleil, NYC Ballet, The Royal Ballet and others. My clients have included cast members on- and off-Broadway and in Las Vegas stage shows. And I have helped champion aerial and ballroom dancers to prepare for competition, including featured performers on America’s Got Talent and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Since 2008 I have lectured nationally through the self-developed Mechanics in Motion® program, offering moving artists of all stripes singular learning opportunities centered on strength training, flexibility, and anatomic understanding.
