I create web and mobile apps that aspire to have a positive impact in the world. I have particular interest in fields of education, the environment, food security and global health issues

In my current position I focus on how technology can be used to support people and projects in low and middle-income countries. Particularly I investigate ways to enable better data flow and conversion to useful information. This involves designing methods for robust data collection (e.g. form design for mobile collection using ODK), storage and processing (e.g. sql/nosql databases, node apps and R servers), and finally feeding back (e.g. mobile apps, websites, publications). I work across multiple countries in Africa and South America in areas of agriculture and climate, and also in education when opportunities arise.

A new web platform to enable people to build an army and unite under a social cause. We're building in React and I'm lending my expertise to core conceptualisation, development and project management.

My main interests and roles surround data loops. In particular effective ways to collect, process and feedback information for use by researchers, data scientists and farmers in developing nations. I work to setup cloud-based servers and systems, as well as creating front-end websites, mobile applications and services. In addition I work closely with partners to help build capacity for others to implement and scale developed solutions.

I have organized and implemented a number of initiatives as part of the African Maths Initiatives network. Work varies greatly and includes teaching on University bridging and extra-curricular mathematics courses, creating materials and visiting schools to support math clubs and competitions, and building and supporting a team to develop educational apps for android devices.

I worked as a mathematics and computer science teacher at Impington Village College. I taught a variety of classes across KS3, GCSE and International Baccalaureate as well as working with pupils excluded from school.

I worked with local and international teams to deliver a mathematics enrichment course as part of African Mathematics Initiatives. I delivered courses on mathematical modelling and programming for learners aspiring to study mathematics in further education.

Working with a highly skilled international team, I helped organise and taught on professional development courses for mathematics educators. I developed and implemented a number of websites including a moodle-based course management system and wordpress-based teachers network, and worked with two companies to help develop mobile learning materials. In addition I worked part time in a local township school teaching enrichment and extension material to the learners.

I worked with a team from the Open Educational Resources project to film, edit and compile workshop material to highlight effective teaching practice within schools in Zambia and South Africa.

I worked to support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including Down’s syndrome, dyslexia, autism and ADHD.
