Within this role it has been necessary to establish modification/efficiency programmes within the department to encompass the ever-changing customer need. This has seen me become more aware to LEAN Principles, Continuous Improvement, Human Factors and airworthiness of engineering assets. Responsible for ensuring maintenance carried out is done so with airworthiness and safety at the forefront of technicians’ minds, all within a MAOS 145 environment. My skills and expertise are used to great advantage when fault diagnosis is required on in-depth systems. It has been essential for me to have oversight for multiple areas of responsibility and provide lead governance in accordance with local procedures and guidelines. I have given legal certification to varying maintenance tasks, conducting independent checks and providing coordination of paperwork, and ensured all provisions for resource availability, tool control, PPE, COSHH and H&S for any task I undertake or Supervise. Delivering training in such areas as; weapons system theoretical operation, maintenance and functional testing, all of which was governed by the Defence Systems Approach to Training Methodology (DSAT)Completely aware of Risk, COSHH and H&S Assessments within the workplace and for multiple tasks; I ensured a suitable environment was provided for all trainees to conduct their duties, taking necessary steps to ensure compliance with necessary legislation and considering all H&S responsibilities associated with this engineering position.
