Accountable for three major IT platforms for the bank managing IT service, projects, transformation, supplier negotiations and cost management across IBM I-Series, HP Nonstop, Teradata & Big Data platforms.Includes transformational hardware and software upgrades, budgetary cost reductions, enhancing supplier management and relationships and managing technical subject matter experts. Major achievements include infrastructure upgrades of the ATM / Point of Sale estate, Payment applications including CHAPS, Group Data Warehouse and the creation of a Big Data Hadoop environment.

Brought into a newly developed role to start IT cost control, creating and implementing new processes and frameworks to enhance expenditure controls and optimise integration synergies. Within this role, I implemented a Commercial Control Team challenging IT third party expenditure ensuring purchasing is compliant with existing and newly developed practices and driving best value interlocking with supplier management and procurement. Multi-million £ Cost reduction has been achieved as a result and contributed to the Group's overall cost challenge and Integration synergy targets. The ostensible benefits achieved led to the expansion and implementation of IT cost control across the entirety of the bank and formed the foundations for the IT Cost Management Unit (CMU) which was subsequently implemented. Senior stakeholder management was an essential part of my role managing the business areas whilst running the IT CMU operations on a day-to-day basis and I developed a number of strengths in this area as well as broadening my knowledge of the IT functional areas and the business areas of the bank.

Recruited for an Internship with Lloyds Banking Group from an IBM Business Challenge Final where I was leading a team from Bangor University. Selected as one of 54 interns from over 10,000 applicants and given a strong and challenging placement. Achieved highest assessment grade of 'Outstanding' with an automatic placement on the Graduate Scheme. However instead, I opted to take a direct placement offered into LBG with a belief that I could thrive and gain more valuable experience in a pressurised hands-on environment.Role was leading and driving a transformation project embedding strategic alignment, consistency and effectiveness across IT functions of the business. Successful project completed with Senior Consultants and Infrastructure Architects providing valuable development to the business. Visible improvement of processes, strategic infrastructure roadmaps and collaboration enabling efficiency rather than areas working as independent silos.
