Founding member of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio (OCAO). President of the organization through November 2012.Worked with the Board of Directors to oversee the mission of the OCAO by establishing relationships with local treatment centers, medical groups, volunteer organizations and potential monetary contributors.Shared the mission of the OCAO and information about ovarian cancer at public and private speaking engagements.Established an internship program within the organization.Helped to establish media relationships with local television and radio stations for the creation of PSA campaigns.Helped establish procedures and policies for the organization.Represented the organization at national conferences surrounding the topic of ovarian cancer.Advocated for additional funding of ovarian cancer research with local and federal government officials.Worked with local area businesses to educate staff about ovarian cancer symptoms.Helped plan and execute the OCAO's yearly fundraising Gala.Helped plan and execute the OCAO's yearly Strides for Hope 5K.
