During this period of employment I was responsible for implementation and feedback on preventative maintenance work, defect rectification, and project work relating to rotating and stationary electrical, control and instrumentation plant and equipment associated with GE frame 6581B gas turbines, steam turbines, and waste heat recovery boilers.I was responsible for my own workload and obtaining spare parts from local, national and international suppliers in line with site quality procedures and costing.I worked alongside field services engineers during gas and steam turbine outages including maintenance on a Speedtronic Mark IV, Microrec Control systems, HV electrical systems, and commissioning of exhaust temperature systems. Duties:• Organisation of routine maintenance schedules.• Liaise with and monitor third party contractors.• Produce commissioning test documents• Perform routine testing, calibration and breakdown maintenance on all plant and process instruments and electrical systems.

In this position I was a member of a team tasked to produce COSR (Continuous Operations Safety Report) reports. This involved preparing project files and liaising with the client on plant to extract data from documentation such as basis of design documents, system drawings, maintenance databases, and commissioning documents. Once collated the data was analysed to determine the functionality of the system and conduct a safety assessment of the design against current standards within the requirements of the COSR procedures. A detailed report was subsequently prepared to identify system shortfalls and corrective actions.

I was employed as part of a team to maintain the radiometric instruments across the Windscale site. My duties in this role included management of my own workload, installation, calibration, and routine testing of radiometric monitoring instruments.

Completed a four year integrated apprenticeship (British Nuclear Fuels Ltd) as an Instrument Technician/Mechanic.
