As part of a wider IT transformation journey at Dyson I was asked to step away from my contract role responsibilities and join the senior management team internally within Dyson IT to lead part of the newly formed design function and establish Dyson’s first ever architecture capability. Role – Head of Application Design (Aug 2016 to Present)Key Achievements - Established the first dedicated architecture function at Dyson focused on application architecture- Ensured definition of a clear and robust function level operating model as part of the wider Dyson IT operating model- Established a coherent and consistent architectural governance process across Dyson IT- Drove recruitment of a set of talented cross-industry experts focused on building Dyson’s architecture capability- Accountable for the strategic direction of Dyson’s IT landscape at an enterprise level- Initiated Dyson’s first step into true Enterprise Architecture to articulate business capabilities, application coverage, data mapping and landscape wireframes- Involved in supporting Dyson’s journey towards GDPR compliance by providing consolidated views of customer data presence across the wider IT landscape- Worked closely with business partnering and PMO functions to ensure definition of prioritized business portfolios of change that are both architecturally sound and focused on business results- Regular and direct interaction with multiple senior Dyson Directors from across the global business to build trusted relationships and ensure technology strategies reflected business demand

Independent IT contractor providing IT project / programme / architecture capabilityClient - DysonRole – Programme Workstream Lead, OneView CRM / Retail implementation (Feb 2015 to Aug 2016)Key Achievements - Field Sales & Service Project – Critical project recovery of a heavily customised SAP sales & service platform. The project required re-platforming and upgrade of end user devices, re-architecting of core enterprise grade applications along with a longer term definition of an architectural strategy- Retail Project – Implementation of Dysons first ever retail store in a prominent position along Oxford High Street in London. The project covered all aspects of IT delivery from infrastructure, networks and application services through to business process design and user training. Client - EDF Energy (Sept 2013 to Feb 2015)Role – Programme Workstream Lead, Desktop Optimisation Programme (Sept 2013 to Feb 2015)Key Achievements - Applications Rationalisation Project - Led a team of 6 contract business analysts to rationalise and remediate the EDF Energy application landscape from 5000+ applications to a target of 1200- Office 2010 Project - Managed a team of 4 UK based contract resources required to complete the mass deployment of Office 2010 to EDF Energy's New Nuclear Build environment (1000 users)- System Centre Configuration Manager Project (SCCM) - Oversaw a team of 4 UK and 6 Indian based Cap Gemini resources to complete the successful deployment of SCCM across the entire EDF Energy desktop estate, comprising a 20,000+ seat deployment- Print Project - Managed a team of two UK based contractors to upgrade the current Windows XP Print Server capability to a Windows 7 compliant Print Server capability ahead of a Windows 7 rollout.
