I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a very diverse, 30+ year background in the HVAC , Construction , Sales and Manufacturing industries, where the primary focus has been in Sales and Sales Management. The core competencies that I have learned and developed over the years are applicable to most other areas of sales beyond the construction industry. I have had the pleasure of working with many rep firms all over the United States and have learned how different markets and circumstances can require different methods for promoting a brand.My approach is simple: • Plan, execute the plan, analyze the results, and adjust the plan as required - This is a continual process for multiple areas. This could be done on a yearly, monthly, weekly, or project basis. Get a plan, run with it, then review the results and adjust as necessary.• Educate the customers on the products that I represent, and how they can benefit from using them.• Build relationships with reps, engineers, contractors and owners. Get to know them and what is influencing their decisions.• Provide a high level of service to my customers that I would expect if I was the customer ; quick turnaround time on customer requests, returning phone calls, accuracy of information, professionalism.• Stand behind your product. There are a number of projects that have something come up that needs attention. Customers remember the salesperson that is there, out at the jobsite, by their side, assisting to find a solution and getting the system working properly. This builds strong, long term relationships and repeat business.• Enable employees to act - Provide direction, set the goal, but allow individuals the ability to create their own plans and ideas on how to achieve these goals. Then review the plan periodically to ensure everything is still on track.• Analyze the market for trends - Keep your finger on the pulse of business enabling a quick reaction to the plan if necessary.
