Creating a representative benchmark of Google protobuf workloads.

Building and deploying commercial websites, including graphical design, generation of assets (with on-site photo shoots), company branding, and SEO. Key technical skills include front-end development with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and back-end development using PHP, MySQL, and full-stack JavaScript frameworks using Node and websockets. Experience with multimedia YouTube and SoundCloud APIs, Twitter Bootstrap, and jQuery.

Working within the Open Source Technology Center on a 13 month internship, I was responsible for development on a variety of different projects, focusing on middleware development and the Linux graphics stack. Key skills included:* Advanced C programming and debugging in Linux environments, including systems-level development and contributing to large (100,000+ lines of code) and mature projects, managed with Git version control and using the autotools build system. Projects include Linux, cogl, Clutter, GNOME, Wayland.* Specialised graphics programming on all areas of the stack, from writing GPU shaders in GEN assembly to complex 3D demonstrations using JavaScript in the web browser. Developed research project modelling swarming behaviour in birds and optimised particle engines.* Native Android application development using Dalvik's Java Native Interface. Experienced UI development in Vala and working with low-level Android APIs.

As a drummer I have played for a number of bands in venues ranging from London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, Sheffield’s Carling Academy and a week long tour of Paris, and have produced a set of online videos with over 300k views. I have also built and maintained a project recording studio used for several independently funded works, such as recording an L.P. for a solo artist which was mastered at Abbey Road studios and is available on iTunes, producing an E.P. for BBC Radio, and recording voice over work for an independent film.
