My dream job was to be an A-10 Warthog pilot for the Air Force from childhood. When I became a type 1 diabetic at the age of 11, that dream was crushed. I was shot into adult hood which forced me to strategically plan out my everyday life yet, as one door closes, another one opens. Hockey became my passion and drive to succeed. I was the smallest of the group but that never pulled me away from my leadership opportunities. Challenges met me as I gained a love for managing my own business and I started to recognize how important customer service is to your business development and therefore if I wanted to be my own boss one day, a college degree would certainly help. On August 23, 2015 I had just been told I would no longer be headed to Sweden to play professional hockey. 5 minutes after that phone call ended, the coach from Utah State contacted me with the opportunity to play. Long story short, within 72 hours I went from backing out of Sweden, packing my truck and was headed down to Logan, UT from Anchorage, AK to be a hockey player and a business student. Now I am 1 year away from graduation and I couldn't be more honored or proud of where I am today.
