Financial Planning is filled with theories, procedures, methodologies, and requires more product knowledge than I thought was possible to learn. While knowing all those things helps me do my job, those elements aren’t why clients work with me. I covered everything: sports in the fall, politics in the spring, and city government and current event throughout the year. I loved meeting people I would otherwise never get to talk to. I got to ask powerful politicians tough questions and advocate for victims. I had access to high-profile celebrities while also spending time covering the growing homeless population in Austin. I learned to listen.Everyone has a story and a dream.I ask every client what their goals are. Most haven’t thought about it. They may have a picture in their minds, but it hasn’t gone much further than that. I help clients bring their goals to life. That starts with planning! We start by identifying what those goals are. Then we figure out where you stand today and develop a plan to get to where you want to be. Once we’ve put together a plan, we partner together for the rest of your life.
