I am currently a PhD candidate in the mathematics department at The Ohio State University. My areas of interest include stochastic topology, tilings, Markov chains, and gerrymandering. I'm most excited by research that sits at the intersection of mathematics and social change. Building on my experiences as a high school math and computer science teacher, I believe that computational literacy is key to empowering people to solve issues of equity.As a former teacher, I also believe that writing, communication, and outreach are essential skills for a researcher, and I am always excited to get a chance to present mathematics and coding to more general audiences. I am particularly adept at crafting narrative through-lines in research.
