Finally I found some time to update my linkedin-Profile to share more insights into my new role with you:As the Head of Development and Operations, I am holistically responsibility for the "Development and Operations" ("DevOps") cluster. Our overarching goal is to instill confidence in our deliverables by fostering a culture of trust, with our mission "Creating trust in what we build". We aim to empower all product and engineering teams to adopt the DevOps mindset of "You build, you run it, you own it," allowing them to optimize their focus on product development and enhance the success of our learners.Within our cluster, we have distinct teams fulfilling crucial roles. The "Infrastructure" team diligently manages our production environment in the AWS cloud, leveraging a fully serverless infrastructure (you can explore further details in a shared blog post with AWS). The "Quality Assurance" team is dedicated to providing department-wide QA resources while actively promoting test automation and establishing streamlined workflows, including a robust bug workflow. "Internal IT" plays a pivotal role in enabling all Babbelonians or offering automation integrations with other departments to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, our recently established "Mobile Platform Team" aims to enhance the mobile development experience and assuming responsibility for commonly used tools and services.Our primary objective is to relieve teams from essential tasks, enabling them to concentrate on their core strengths, namely product development. As part of our cluster, we have also established dedicated "Program Management". Their role encompasses holistic management of our foundational program, spanning multiple projects and departments, even beyond the scope of product and engineering.
